Markit EDM v11.5 (Beta) Release Notification

December 22nd 2016

IHS Markit is pleased to announce the v11.5 (Beta) release of our Enterprise Data Management (EDM) software for clients participating in the beta program.
The highlights of this release are:
Markdown
  • Text Label UI element and Email Data Porter now both support Markdown syntax for rich text rendering.
  • Users can enter Markdown marked-up text which gets rendered into HTML.
  • Placeholders can be used for text to be replaced during the conversion from Markdown to HTML.
  • Custom HTML is disallowed to prevent the possibility of Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks.
Heat Map
  • New Heat Map Data Generator element displays colour-coded values in a grid.
  • Colours represent value bands (such as red for hot or green for not).
  • Similar to Microsoft Excel conditional formatting.
Charts
  • Kendo UI Charts introduced for improved visualisation and customisation.
  • New Chart UI elements include Line Chart, Bar Chart, Area Chart, Pie Chart, Scatter Chart, and Multi-Plot Chart.
Always-On
  • Ability to mark a solution as Always-On so that components will execute with better performance.
  • Always-On solutions are preloaded into memory on the application server through the Process Launcher Service.
Version Control
  • New components no longer being checked in (and out again) on first save, until explicitly checked in.
  • Change Sets now supported for Subversion, Team Foundation Server (TFS), and Database version control providers.
Navigation
  • New standard navigation menu (site map) to navigate through to the available workflow screens in the Web UI.
  • No need to "build your own" on every screen.
Other Changes
  • Markit EDM now supports SQL Server 2016, with the minimum required version still being SQL Server 2008.
