Web UI Administration

User Group Management

  • Child groups of Active Directory groups will be automatically added to an EDM group when a parent Active Directory group is added. The number of levels of the child Active Directory groups can be set via a new database parameter: MaxADGroupTreeLevel, the default is 5 levels.
  • For Active Directory groups in the web UI, a new column will display either the User or Group type, with all columns in the grid now sortable.

  • Data Generator Value Distribution in the web UI now displays the decoded values from the Data Generator Function, instead of the values stored in the database.
  • The Auto Resize Columns option in the Generator Inbox UI element is now enabled by default.

Other Changes

  • Ability to search in drop-down box UI elements.
  • When importing configuration, the process will automatically remove database connection strings which no longer exist in the incoming configuration, apart from those used by the database version control system.
  • For charts with multiple series, series without data will not be shown in the chart legend in the web UI. This applies to the Line, Bar/Column, Area and Combo chart types.
  • NavigationConfiguration.xml timestamp of the export datetime has been removed so the file structure remains consistent with each export.
  • Original Id is no longer recreated when importing configurations. EDM now checks all the entries marked as deleted and whether the Original Id already exists.

EDM Warehouse v19.1 Release Notification

IHS Markit is pleased to announce the v19.1.0.64 release of our Enterprise Data Management Warehouse (EDM Warehouse) software which is now generally available.
The highlights of this release are:

New Inquiry Templates

The following new features and enhancements are available in EDM Warehouse from this release:
  • Position Look Through Summary: Allows users to find segment exposures for fund of funds/manager of managers using look through data. The template presents data in a tree list grid and tree map chart. Standard features are PDF & Excel download, ability to edit and drill down, as well as disclosure integration. The standard inquiry number is 3210.
  • Position Look Through Detail: Redesigned fund or position look through for funds that hold other funds, providing complete analytical and exposure reporting to the lowest level. The legacy template for Fund Look Through is no longer operable. The standard inquiry number is 3200.
  • Comparative Period Analysis - Period: Allows users to select time periods for display.  For example, compare only month end data for the past 4 months.  Time periods display in vertical format. The standard inquiry number is 2799.
  • Multi Period Position List:  New inquiry based on existing Position List.  Users can select a period or date range in conjunction with a date type (quarter-end, daily).  For example, retrieve position list data for each month end for the past four months.  A date column has been added to the results set.
  • Growth of 10K Inquiry: Displays the growth of $10,000 of a fund using different time intervals and calculation types, as selected by the user. The standard inquiry number is 3201.

Enhancements to Existing Inquiry Templates

  • Fund Performance Inquiry: The Share Class Selection, Performance Calculation Type and Performance Source components now allow the selection of multiple items. Previously, users could only select one or all items.
  • Net Asset Value: The Share Class Selection component now allows the selection of multiple share classes. Previously, users could only select one or all classes.

User Interface Enhancements

  • New Chart Types
    • New Tree Map chart allows visualizing hierarchical segment exposure reports, e.g. Position summary by Asset and Sub-Asset Class.
    • Line Chart - Support added for Growth of 10K inquiry template. Line chart support will be extended to valid inquiry templates in future releases.
  • Drill Down Navigation Enhancements
    • New navigation - Drill down data appears on the same page reducing the amount of time users need to move from one segment to another.
    • Drill down allowed from all levels of segment summary hierarchy. In earlier versions, users could drill down only from the lowest level of segment summary hierarchy. For example, Position Summary by Asset and Sub-Asset Class did not allow users to drill down on asset. Users could drill down only for combination of Asset and Sub-Asset Class.
  • New Grid Features
    • Tree list grid replaces existing grid for Summary inquiries.
    • In-grid sorting replaces edit-sort feature in List and Summary Inquiry templates.
    • In-grid filter replaces edit-filter feature in List Inquiry templates.
    • In-grid filter replaces edit-group filter feature in Summary Inquiry templates.
    • In-grid column resizing replaces edit-format-width input in List and Summary templates.
    • Ability to hide and unhide columns from the grid without the need to navigate to Edit>Format>Hide Display. Sort and filter criteria are the same for hidden columns.
  • Edit Feature Enhancements
    • Integration of Select and Format tabs improves user experience.
    • New field information includes Table name, Database Column name, and Original Field Business name.
    • New inquiry information includes Entity name and Entity number.
    • Summary Inquiries now have separate tabs for grouping and totaling lists. Search functionality has also been added to available and selected totaling field lists.
    • Classification set selection can now be locked by administrators.
  • Other Changes
    • Drop-downs with search support.
    • Excel Downloads - Comma Separated Value file downloads have been replaced by Excel downloads. Excel downloads support charting and disclosure integration, as well as scheduling.
    • Configure Account Selection Search Parameters - Administrators can define the fields by which accounts can be searched. In previous versions, account search was limited to Account Id and Account Name. In addition, all authorized accounts display in the account selection drop-down. The 'List All' feature has been decommissioned.
    • Configure Fund Selection Search Parameters - Administrators can define the fields by which funds can be searched. In previous versions, fund search was limited to Fund Id and Fund Name. In addition, all authorized funds display in the fund selection drop-down. The 'List all' feature has been decommissioned.
    • The number of Allowable Special Characters in header names has been increased.

Data Model Enhancements

  • New data fields in Inquiry Content and Inquiry Type provide more flexible configuration on Fund Look Through templates.
