Advisory Note on Migrating from Microsoft Internet Explorer
EDM v17.1 marked
a significant step on our path to providing users with a rich and dynamic
application experience, with the latest generation of browser-based application
frameworks such as Angular 6 and Kendo UI enabling us to improve the usability
and responsiveness of EDM significantly.
With Microsoft now focusing on its flagship Edge web
browser, we have found that the legacy Internet Explorer browser engine no
longer offers peak performance when rendering web pages and web applications
compared with more modern browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and
Microsoft Edge. Since IE supports a smaller subset of the latest web standard
(ECMAScript 6) than the other browsers, performance may be significantly
slower, user interactivity may be impacted, and grids with very large data sets
may be very slow to load when using Internet Explorer 11.0 to access EDM.
We are encouraging our clients to migrate from Internet
Explorer to one of the better performing browsers that better support the
present and future features of the improved EDM architecture.
